電撃G’s Magazine March 2010

Dengeki G's, Kud Wafter

After waiting for almost a month – yes, a month – my shipment of the March edition finally arrived his morning! Or rather, afternoon since I slept into 3pm.

The estimates for SAL small packet shipment was spot-on. It was shipped February 2nd, and they estimate that it would take between 2~3weeks. As SAL small packet doesn’t have insurance nor provide me with a tracking number, I’m kind of relieved that my shipment got here intact.

They really bone you with the shipping though. A ¥990 (~$10) magazine ended up costing me ¥2323 (~$27) at the time of purchase. So the ¥1333 difference is pretty much all shipping. It sounds ridiculous, but yes, the shipping costs more than the item itself. Maybe we should built an underwater tunnel connecting Japan and Canada or something…

How it looked like inside that unnecessarily gigantic box for a magazine and its attachment.

Shipping weight was 1.25kg. I think the cardboard box + paper buffer weighed more than the magazine.

This month’s “special gift” is a mini figure of N. Kudryavka in a “stray-dog version”, to celebrate the upcoming launch of Kud Wafter (クドわふたー), a spinoff of Little Busters series. Here’s the box for that.

I thought it would be at least 10cm tall but apparently it’s only 4~5cm tall at most. Smaller than I expected.

The “stray-dog” box. If you played Little Busters! then you’d know why there’s a frog.

Assembled – although it’s just connecting the head and the body.

A much better photo.

Macro-ing with a point-and-shoot camera works somewhat well, I’d say.

And for the magazine itself.

IMG_0014 This month’s major topic is obviously Key’s next major game, Rewrite, and their first-ever anime venture, Angel Beats!. The first article of the magazine is a “super-long interview” and since I haven’t read through all of it yet, it’s hard to say what’s going to be discussed.

There’s a comic section at the last half of the magazine that is also quite interesting. I won’t spoil this month’s Little Busters! comic topic though!

For next month, there’s yet another 電撃G’s Festival Deluxe being released, most likely to commemorate the first airing of Angel Beats!. That’s two Deluxe editions within a span of 2 months ̄Д ̄. It would probably end up costing me another $80 after shipping and whatnot are factored in. It’s up for reservation now at Hobby Search for ¥3790. I reserved one as soon as the email arrived in my inbox xD
